ITLS - International Trauma Life Support
This Intensive 2-day course is designed to
give the Trauma Nurse, Paramedic and
Physician the knowledge and skills
necessary to rapidly perform the initial
evaluation and stabilization of the trauma
patient according to nationally recognized
standards. This is a demanding course that
requires participants to be familiar with the
materials in the ITLS book prior to this class.
Preparation Packets, directions and a Pretest
will be mailed to participants. The pretest
must be completed and turned in at the
beginning of the course.

the Emergency Nurses Association,
provides core-level knowledge and
psychomotor skills associated with
implementing the trauma nursing process.
Psychomotor skills station in the course
includes Nursing Process, Trauma
Assesment, Airway and Ventilation
Interventions, Spinal Immobilization,
Chest Trauma and Traction Splinting.
This course is designed for Registered
Nurses, although other healthcare
providers may also attend as observers.
Course participants should possess, at
minimum, generic nursing knowledge and
have an understanding of emergency care
terminology and has a familiarity with
standard emergency equipment.
