2-1-1 is a free, confidential referral and information service that connects people from all communities and all ages to a specialist who will help you find local health and human services, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline  1-800-273-8255

The national (USA) suicide hotline. They can and will talk to anyone who needs help. We’ve been told by one of their founders they have a large number of first responders and veterans who volunteer.

Another national (USA) hotline for people suffering from mental health issues.

A crisis line specifically for veterans of the US armed forces.

A confidential helpline for members of US law enforcement. Their website also has additional information on help and resources.

A service that allows people in crisis to speak with a trained crisis counselor by texting 741741.

This list includes thousands of local call numbers for every state in the US. Calling a local number can help put you in contact with nearby resources like counselors or psychiatrists faster than calling a national line.

A 24/7 help line staffed by first responders for first responders and their family members. They can assist with treatment options for responders who are suffering from mental health, substance abuse, and other personal issues.

Share The Load (Fire/EMS)  1-888-731-3473

Also known as The Fire/EMS Helpline. A program run by the National Volunteer Fire Council. They have a help line, and have also collected a list of many good resources for people looking for help and support.

American Association of Poison Control Centers   1-800-222-1222

The American Association of Poison Control Centers supports the nation’s 55 poison centers in their efforts to prevent and treat poison exposures. Poison centers offer free, confidential medical advice, 24 hours a day.

Their mission is to equip patients and families with the best information, resources, and tools to overcome addiction and lead a lifelong recovery.

Florida Addiction and Inpatient Drug Rehab  1-877-655-5116

Provides access to information about drug rehab centers in Florida, as well as other tools and information to help recover from addiction.

The state of Florida requires CNA’s to obtain 1-hour per month in Continuing Education subjects, that is 12 hours per year or 24 hours in the 2-year licensing period.

Florida rule 64B9-15.011 states every 2 years, in-service training shall include (but is not limited to) 24 hours in a minimum of the following areas:

  • Bloodborne Pathogens / Infection Control
  • Family Violence
  • Medical Documentation/Resident’s Rights & HIPPA
  • Communication With The Cognitively Impaired
  • Medical Error Prevention and Safety
  • CPR Skills

Our program will cover 22 hours (you can take all or some) of appropriate curriculum, including the above, but will not provide CPR skills needed to complete the recertification.
